What Is a Traffic Exchange?

A traffic exchange is basically a marketplace where people go to place their webpage they want advertised into for other people to see by way of surfing the exchange. Its a bit like classified ads in your local newspaper where businesses advertise their business in the hopes of people seeing their business/programs/platforms and turn viewers/surfers into buyers. In this marketplace the niches are usually mainly Making Money Opportunities (MMO), Affiliate Marketing, Online Business & other Traffic Exchanges. The concept is a good one if everything goes to plan. Most Traffic Exchanges also let you place banners and text ads on the exchange. You can either buy traffic or click your way too free traffic, which is what most people do.

Are Traffic Exchanges Any Good?

There are lots of differing opinions as to whether or not Traffic Exchanges are worth the time & effort. Of course to be worth it, you really need something unique and fast loading. Putting a mile long webpage or blog is probably the worst thing you can do, as they take so long too load, most traffic exchanges only allow anything from 4 seconds for the super fast exchanges up too 30 seconds for others. 12 – 15 seconds is the average, so really you want a landing/splash page if you want to use Traffic Exchanges to get traffic to your website.

Also if you see other people advertising the same product you are affiliated with then you’ve got some competition. Again having a unique splash page can put you at an advantage. Ideally use a landing page which enables you to collect emails/subscribers wether they join your offer or not. Click Funnels is an excellent tool to do this, and the Four Percent program shows you exactly how to do this. Imagine, people opting in to your splash page, not buying into what your promoting but still being on your list to  promote “other products.” What a concept.

Another rule is not ALL Traffic Exchanges are created equal. Some are good, some are OK & some are just plain useless. A bit of digging will sort the gold from the dirt, but I’ve given you a list here of what I consider (and have had good results with) to be the cream of the crop. I won’t say which are the worse Traffic Exchanges as that could open up a can of worms and a load of legal jargon. But below is a “safe” list of reputable TE’s that I personally have had some good results with as far as TE’s go. Remember that too get results you should utilise many different tools in your arsenal. Never rely on just one, like Facebook. You need a whole toolbox at your disposal and apply many strategies for success.

Whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT put any page onto a TE, (Traffic Exchange) that has google adsense on it. If your aim is to get viewers onto your google adsense page then it is absolutely crucial that you send them their via a splash/landing page FIRST that leads to your website with google adsense. If you should put an adsense page onto a TE, be prepared to have your Google Adsense account shutdown, so that is rule Number One, first       and foremost.

Which Are The Good Ones

If you haven’t joined any of the TE’s listed below, just click on the links & join up. All of these are free to join and its a great way to start getting some traffic viewing your site. Remember, you want a splash page that is fast & easy to load, something that when viewers click on the link forces them to put their email in adding them to your autoresponder thus building your list. Personally I would STAY AWAY from those TE’s that are auto surf. No one is probably even looking at these so to me they are a complete waste of time. Of course, again, their may be the odd exception, but auto surf is exactly what the name implies, automatically surfing. Their are some TE’s that offer both Manual & Autosurf which can be better. Never assume that a high number of members means a lot of viewers. Many times, the new TE’s, the virgin ones, can have an advantage in the idea that theirs not so many websites on them that your chances of anyone seeing them is like 1 in 60,000. A TE with only 2 – 3,000 sites will give your page more exposure than the 1 in 60,000 right? So don’t discount the lower numbers as no good, sometimes they can produce the best results.

The Ultimate would be to have your very own Traffic Exchange which you run yourself, and profit from by having others join you. LFMTE is the leading Traffic Exchange Software Suite available, and at a comparatively low start-up cost, I wouldn’t & couldn’t recommend any other platform if you were to go that route. People can make a really good income just running their own traffic exchange without doing anything else and in all honesty its a great place to learn all about marketing in its purest form, after all, advertisers will be coming directly to you to advertise their products, not the other way round. Check out below how you can get started in this wonderful business and learn exactly how some of the big names in IM got started themselves, running TE’s.

Below is a list of what I consider to be some of the best Traffic Exchanges operating today, attracting advertisers, buyers, people looking for opportunities and searching for leads. When people enter into a Traffic Exchange they are usually their for one of two reasons. They are wanting to sell something or they are searching for leads. 99% of people that use these sites are in the marketing game so the audience is laser targeted to marketing. Now some people might thunk, “ok, but they’re just trying to sell their products” Yes, but, they are also the type of person, customer that will also buy related products. Its a great marketplace for marketers. Of course if your site is about selling shoes or flowers then it may not produce the best results, but if like the majority your trying to sell a product that is designed to help marketers, I couldn’t think of a better place.

Popular 1:1 Traffic Exchange

There you have it, I’m sure theres a lot more but this list is some of the top traffic exchanges that are both user friendly and have delivered results for me personally. Many people disregard TE’s as a good source of traffic, but I would like to remind you again, only use TE’s to get people onto your list. Thats it. Don’t try to sell them anything or you maybe wasting your efforts. It could take longer for the page to load before anyone even sees your offer, plus remember the majority of people using TE’s are in the same boat, trying to get traffic to their sites. So experiment, using tracking to see which ones are working for YOUR offer, remember your offer will determine what sort of clicks you will receive, if your offering junk don’t expect much in return and of course provide value. A good product to offer on TE’s is … another form of Traffic.
